Bienvenue à West Village
The first Amélie on the East Coast opened on West 8th Street in 2012, and it's still the neighborhood's favorite all-day French bistro. Settle in for a dinner of French bistro classics, hold down a stool through the best happy hour downtown, or wander in for a slow weekend brunch. At heart it's a wine bar, with a deep by-the-glass list and a kitchen cooking French fare imagined to complement every sip.

The service was incredibly friendly and attentive from start to finish, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is wonderful whether you choose to sit inside or outside.
This is honestly one of my favorite spots in the city. Like my actual go-to. If I don't know where to go, I go here. It never disappoints.
Hands down the best meal we enjoyed so far in the city. Thank you, Sammy and staff for making us feel so welcomed. Much love from Mississippi ❤️

The service was incredibly friendly and attentive from start to finish, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is wonderful whether you choose to sit inside or outside. The happy hour deals were amazing and offered great value! Everything about the experience felt relaxed and welcoming. I'll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great wine bar in the neighborhood.
Kel This is honestly one of my favorite spots in the city. Like my actual go-to. If I don't know where to go, I go here. It never disappoints. The wine selection is so good not just basic options, but actually interesting bottles. I've tried different ones almost every time and somehow they always hit. If you love wine, you'll be happy here. Food-wise… steak frites and liver mousse are my forever orders. I don't even try to switch it up anymore because why mess with perfection? It's always consistent, always flavorful, always exactly what I'm craving. And the music?? I love it. The vibe is that perfect balance cozy but still social and a little buzzy. It feels effortless. Not try-hard, not pretentious, just cool in a natural way. The staff is also great. Friendly, attentive, but chill. You feel welcomed, not rushed. Overall, it's one of those places that just feels right every time. Wine, food, music, energy - everything works. I'll keep coming back.
Darius A Delightful service and atmosphere with exquisite French menu perfect for a New York day. Merely passerby tourists that happened upon this quaint establishment. Hands down the best meal we enjoyed so far in the city. Thank you, Sammy and staff for making us feel so welcomed. Much love from Mississippi ❤️
